Seventeen-year-old Bella Swan moves to the rainy town of Forks, Washington and meets the alluringly handsome Edward Cullen. At first she is intrigued by his dark and mysterious persona, but when he befriends her and impossibly saves her life from a series of accidents, she finds herself falling in love even after realizing that her perpetual savior is a vampire painfully resisting his craving for Bella's blood.Living with a family of vampires who have sworn off human blood, Edward struggles to stay away from Bella, only to admit to himself that she may be the unexpected surprise that finally gave meaning to his immortal existence, the soul mate he has waited almost a hundred years for.

Just when Bella finds herself welcomed into the Cullen family, a strong and dangerous vampire enemy lusting for her blood hunts her, and almost kills her had her beloved not been able to save her on time.
They dwell on how much of a mistake their love is but in the end, Bella refuses to let go of Edward. She asks a life-changing favor and, in a romance like theirs, he could only promise to stay by her side as long as it takes. Edward knows the rest of eternity will never be the same. He has Bella's love which, to him, is enough for forever.
